Dr. Varsha got inspired to do specialization in ophthalmology by looking at the tireless effort of her professor-ophthalmologist to use his knowledge to help all of patients. And from there her masters degree from MIMSR medical college,Latur, Maharashtra, helped bolster her true passion and talents to restore or improve a person’s vision through corrective eye surgery. She believes that it’s her gift to provide such eye care and to add an invaluable quality in to patients’ life. She gives back to community, volunteering her time with eye camps across the state, helping paramedics diagnose cataracts, trachoma, and other infectious eye diseases.

She joined D S Karad Eye Institute, Latur, Maharashtra as a visiting consultant in 2015 and also associated as assistant professor with her alma matter MIMSR medical college & hospital.As a consultant doctor with D S Karad Eye Institute & YCR hospital, she well organizes mobile eye camps, giving the more rural populations access to tertiary health care, which essentially enables her to screen patients from the general population. In addition to these outreach programs, shehas independently performed  over 4750 Small Incision Cataract Surgeries (SICS), many Glaucom, enucleation  –  squint surgeries  and has also assisted senior consultant doctors in complicated cataract surgeries  in quite possibly hundreds of instances.She aspires to build a comprehensive eye care facility at both D S Karad Eye Institute & Dept. of Ophthalmology, MIMSR Medical College, Laturalong with her husband, who is also an ophthalmologist. They aim to provide best-in-class treatment facilities at affordable rates which will suit the common populace.
